The hot new movie this weekend is Ryan Gosling’s Project Hail Mary, but if you want to stay at home and watch some good movies, Hulu has you covered.
The Disney-owned streamer is constantly adding new movies to its ever-expanding library, and Watch With Us recommends streaming these new-to-Hulu films.
The 2025 political drama Anniversary, the period romance Magic in the Moonlight and the anti-rom-com London are all worth taking a look at over the next three days.
‘Anniversary’ (2025)
At their 25th anniversary party, married couple Ellen (Diane Lane) and Paul (Kyle Chandler) meet their only son’s fiancée, Liz (Phoebe Dynevor), who used to attend the university Ellen teaches at. The very liberal Ellen instantly dislikes Ellen, who believes in a totalitarian, one-party state. When the two women part, Liz reveals she’s about to release a book, The Change, which promotes her ideology.
That’s just the start of Anniversary, a provocative drama about how Liz’s book becomes such a big hit, it changes the culture — and Ellen’s family. Ellen and Paul eventually lose their jobs and, eventually, their comfortable, upper-class lifestyle. One child is jailed, while another joins a resistance movement. And yes, someone dies — but who and why is left up to you to find out.
Anniversary is purposefully outrageous, with an ending that’s sure to inspire heated conversation. But the movie is superbly acted and directed, with a never-better Lane as a matriarch who can’t help but watch as she loses everything she loves.
Anniversary is streaming on Hulu.
‘Magic in the Moonlight’ (2014)
Stanley Crawford (Colin Firth) is a cynical master illusionist with a reputation for exposing frauds. When an old friend asks him to expose a supposed clairvoyant, Sophie (Emma Stone), who has romanced the son of a very wealthy family, he reluctantly accepts. But much to his surprise, Stanley thinks she’s the real deal. Even more alarmingly, he finds himself falling in love with her. If Sophie can really see into the future, is Stanley there waiting for her at an altar? Or is she just really good at deceiving everyone?
Magic in the Moonlight is a slight but very entertaining romance with some healthy doses of comedy and a whole lot of whimsy. Don’t call it a rom-com, though; instead, it’s a deliberately old-fashioned love story about how the greatest illusion of all is believing in the magical power of love. Firth and Stone spark some genuine chemistry between them, even if their large age-gap romance is a bit problematic to watch in 2026.
Magic in the Moonlight is streaming on Hulu.
‘London’ (2005)
London (Jessica Biel) is about to move to California, and she’s throwing one last party to say goodbye. Everyone is invited except ex-boyfriend Syd (Chris Evans), who is still bitter about their breakup. When Syd unexpectedly shows up with his drug-dealing friend Bateman (Jason Statham), all hell breaks loose. London can’t avoid interacting with Syd, but will their reunion bring them together again or remind them why they split up in the first place?
Primarily set in one snazzy apartment, London is a claustrophobic drama about a toxic relationship between two people who are all wrong for each other. Syd and London know they bring out the worst in one another, but they have also never experienced as much passion as they do when they are together. But does that make all the drama and pain worth it? The answer depends on you more than the story, which keeps things open-ended right up until the climax. If your lover looked like Chris Evans or Jessica Biel, how could you resist them?
London is streaming on Hulu.
