Instate opponent Louisiana Tech (1-0) stands in their way in the second game of the 2026 season. No. 8 LSU (1-0) and Tech are set for kickoff inside Tiger Stadium Saturday, Sept. 12 (6:30 p.m. CT, SEC Network+).

Change up at kickoff return for LSU football
After the opener last week, Kiffin did talk about finding more ways to get sophomore Phillip Wright Jr. on the field. Looks like he’s found another way.
Wright is listed at the top of kickoff return. Backup running back Stacey Gage is also listed at kickoff return as well.
Eugene Wilson III was the returner for the opener last week but it looks like Wright and Gage will be a good look in the role against Louisiana Tech.
Standout freshman Lamar Brown back on depth chart
One week after not being listed on the two-deep, freshman defensive end Lamar Brown is on the depth charter for the first time in his collegiate career.
Interestingly, Brown is listed as the third string defensive tackle behind freshman Deuce Geralds and Auburn transfer Malik Blocton.

Who will be first backup quarterback off bench for LSU football?
If LSU gets up big and Kiffin pulls the starters like he did late last week against Clemson, which backup quarterback will come into the game?
Last week, Husan Longstreet was listed as the primary backup but Landen Clark was the first reserve off the bench. Will Kiffin go with Longstreet this week against Tech?
Longstreet is once again listed as second string quarterback on the two deep.
