Soon, the Arizona State Sun Devils will be back on the football field for fall camp.
Behind the scenes, ASU officials are working on making the fan experience a good one.
The football program sold out all seven home games in the 54,000-seat Mountain America Stadium during the 2025 season, one of the few Big 12 schools to do so. Here is what is in the works.
What is new with ASU football stadium?
The school experimented with on-field suites in one end zone last season. Athletic director Graham Rossini said the school is working on a reconfiguration of those.
“We got two premium sections that are being renovated this summer, the South Lodge with about 400 seats are being refreshed,” Rossini said. “The North boxes that we tried last year tested a concept that worked fairly well.
“I think we have a better version of that with about 34 boxes that go by the Tillman statue, looking at game-day improvements we can make.”
What is the latest with the indoor facility?
Rossini added that work on ASU’s $55 million indoor football facility is also expected to break ground in the fall. It will feature 78,000 square feet of practice fields and will be located in what is now a parking lot for the stadium, Lot 59.
It will be a multi-use space. When not being used for football practices, it can double as a tailgating area on game days. The addition of the new facility, whose plans were unveiled in February, will nearly double the tailgating area around the stadium with indoor space alone.
ASU opens the season on Sept. 5 against Morgan State at Mountain America Stadium.
