It was strictly business for Angel Reese on Saturday night after the Seattle Storm defeated her Atlanta Dream 105-90.

Storm rookie Flau’jae Johnson was seen hugging her teammates before the final buzzer sounded. She then went to give Reese a handshake but Johnson’s former LSU Tigers teammate walked right past her.

Johnson took it in stride but it was clear Reese didn’t want to do any celebrating with anyone as the Dream were down by 14 points when Reese walked off the floor. It was their first meeting between the two former teammates in the pros.

Reese and Johnson were on the same LSU national championship team in 2023, defeating Caitlin Clark’s Iowa Hawkeyes in the national title game. Reese averaging 23 points and 15.6 rebounds per game that season. Johnson, a freshman at the time, averaged 11 points and 5.9 rebounds per game.

This season, at least, Reese has found herself on a winning team. Atlanta is 12-7 this season after the loss to Seattle. The Dream are fifth in the WNBA standings. On the other hand, wins have been hard to come by for the Storm. Seattle is 5-15 this year and sit toward the bottom of the league.
