Michael Olise lit up Europe this season. The 24-year-old Frenchman’s insanely high output for Bayern Munich, combined with his technical abilities, has earned him the distinction of being named the Best French Player Abroad by the National Union of Professional Football Players. Olise beat the likes of Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappé, Liverpool’s Hugo Ekitike, and others to this award:
Here’s what the former Crystal Palace winger had to say afterwards:
After receiving his award
“I’m very honored and grateful for this award. I’d like to thank my teammates, coaches, staff and everyone that supported me this season. I’m looking forward to giving everything at the World Cup this summer to make our country proud.”
His ambitions for club and country
My objective this season was to win everything with France and with Bayern. That’s it. I’m excited for the World Cup and looking forward to giving everything to win with France.
Olise has registered 52 goal contributions in all competitions so far this season (22 goals, 30 assists).
