Normal, an action-crime comedy starring Nobody, Better Call Saul and Breaking Bad icon Bob Odenkirk, has already landed a digital streaming release date.
Directed by Ben Wheatley, Normal opened in theaters nationwide on April 17. Odenkirk co-wrote the story for Normal with Derek Kolstad, who in turn penned the screenplay. Kolstad, who created the John Wick franchise, previously wrote the screenplays for Odenkirk’s Nobody movies.
Normal is set in the fictional town of Normal, Minn., where Ulysses Richardson (Odenkirk), a longtime lawman tormented by a past decision, comes to fill in as interim sheriff after the death of the current top cop. Everything seems “Minnesota Nice” to Ulysses at first in the friendly confines of the remote community, until a bank robbery exposes a major conspiracy that all the Normal townsfolk are in on.
Rated R, Normal also stars Henry Winkler as Normal’s mayor and Lena Headey as a local barkeep.
Normal is set to be released on digital streaming via premium video on demand on May 19, according to a new listing on Prime Video. The film is currently up for pre-order for purchase for $24.99 and will also be available on PVOD on such digital platforms as Apple TV, Fandango at Home and YouTube Movies & TV.
Since digital rentals are typically $5 less than purchase prices, Normal should be available to rent on PVOD for a 48-hour period for $19.99.
