A 14-YEAR-OLD boy who was killed in a horror smash between an e-bike and a car has been pictured for the first time.

Finley Dawson was riding an e-bike with a 15-year-old pillion passenger in Chesterfield, Derbyshire, at around 8:30pm on March 5 before the fatal collision.

The bike collided with a Kia Sportage with the two teenagers thrown from the e-bike into the road.

Finley and his pillion passenger were rushed to hospital with serious injuries following the horror smash.

Finley’s injuries were described as “non survivable” and he tragically died the following day on March 6, police said.

Cops confirmed that the pillion passenger remains in hospital.

The schoolboy is said to be in a serious but stable condition.

The families of both boys have since spoken out about the dangers of electric motorbikes being ridden on the road.

In a joint statement they said: “There is a reason these bikes are banned from the road, and devastatingly Finley has paid the ultimate price in losing his life.

“His friend has sustained serious injuries and has to come to terms with growing up without his best mate.

“Although the thrill of riding an electric bike on the road seems exciting, it can also be fatal.

“That quick thrill, is not worth the risk.”

A spokesperson for Derbyshire police said: “Finley’s family are being supported by specialist officers, and our thoughts go out to them at this difficult time.

“The driver of the Kia is being treated as a witness and is assisting officers with enquiries.

“No arrests have been made.”
