The Denver Broncos continue to bring back their in-house free agents.
The Broncos are re-signing defensive lineman Matt Henningsen, according to the Denver Gazette‘s Chris Tomasson. He’s the second restricted free agent who returned today after not receiving a tender, joining tight end Lucas Krull.
The lowest RFA tender was worth $3.52 million this offseason, so it’s understandable that Denver did not want to commit that much to Henningsen or Krull. Both players became unrestricted free agents after the NFL’s new league year kicked off on Wednesday afternoon, but the Broncos promptly brought them back (presumably for well below the cost of a tender).
