In-person interviews continue for the Cleveland Browns as they search for the franchise’s 23rd head coach. On Saturday, the team met with former Chargers head coach and current Washington Commanders assistant Anthony Lynn.
This is the first in-person interview the team has completed that counts towards compliance with the Rooney Rule. With the team set to interview Los Angeles passing game coordinator Nate Scheelhaase on Monday, they will have satisfied the Rooney Rule and will be able to hire someone as head coach.
Lynn has a ton of experience, starting his coaching career with the Denver Broncos in 2000. While it seems like a long shot that Lynn gets the head coaching job, he does become a potential offensive coordinator candidate if they hire one of the young offensive minds like Scheelhaase or Jacksonville’s Grant Udinski. Having someone like Lynn with his extensive track record and experience could really set up a young coach for success.
