Canada wins 1st gold in men’s team gymnastics

Dolci and Émard lead Canada to Commonwealth Games gold in men’s gymnastics team event

Félix Dolci won the vault and horizontal bar competitions, while William Émard won the rings competition, as Canada claimed gold in the men’s gymnastics team event at the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games.

Canada grabs its first gold in Glasgow. In the men’s artistic gymnastics team final, Canada took the title, finishing with a total score of 241.400 to top the standings. Canada delivered a strong and balanced performance across all six events, posting scores of 40.600 on rings, 41.950 on vault, 39.550 on floor exercise, 39.650 on pommel horse, 40.350 on parallel bars, and 39.300 on horizontal bar.

Félix Dolci led the individual standings for Canada, finishing first overall in the qualification rankings with a combined score of 81.650.  England earned silver with 238.250 points, finishing 3.150 points behind Canada, while Australia claimed bronze with 235.650 points.

The victory marks a major step forward for Canada’s men’s program. Four years ago, Canada earned silver in the team final at the Birmingham Commonwealth Games, and the team entered this competition with significant momentum after capturing Canada’s first-ever men’s team title at the Pan American Championships in June 2026.

Canada’s gold-medal team featured Jordan Carroll, René Cournoyer, Félix Dolci, William Émard and Ethan Ikeda, who combined for a historic performance on the Commonwealth stage.
