Former Chelsea defender Thiago Silva has attempted to call the result of the PSG vs Chelsea match in the Champions League.

The Blues are in Paris now getting ready to take on the French giants in the next round of the Champions League tonight. And having played for both clubs and feeling a love for them equally, Silva is finding it hard to predict which way this one is going to go, as we all are.

But he claims it’s not because he played for both clubs, simply because both teams are so good and we wont know which one is going to be stronger first on the night, and then across the two legs.

Silva on Chelsea vs PSG

Thiago Silva and Mauricio Pochettino embrace.

In words cited on X this week, Silva said:

“I watch a lot of football. Chelsea’s schedule is insane. Chelsea played seven games in March, while Paris played four – almost 50% more in the legs.

“That might not make it easier exactly, but physically I think Paris might be a little more prepared.

“I wouldn’t call a favourite in this match – not just because I played for both teams, but because I think it will be a very difficult game to decide who goes through.”

Silva sits on the fence, and I think many will be joining him there!

In other news this week…

One move that will definitely be made in the summer is arrival of Geovany Quenda to Chelsea from Sporting for around £18m – and there are already plans in place for him.

Luis Enrique took his PSG press conference yesterday, and he previewed tonight’s Champions League game by speaking a lot about Liam Rosenior’s style of play.
