Couple shocked by what they found hiding in their new couch

That’s one sneaky kitty.

There’s always a risk savvy shoppers take when buying a secondhand item, never knowing what condition it will be in and what — or who — might be left behind in it.

One couple learned this lesson the hard way when they bought their couch from a co-worker and discovered a cat hiding in it.

The colleague that Samantha Hardin’s husband was buying the three-piece couch from had a sneaky cat that they were trying to prevent from running out when transporting the piece of furniture from their home into his car.

Well, lo and behold, that kitty not only snuck out, but he also managed to creep into the couch and set up shop there — to no one’s knowledge, of course.

Later, when the couple was home enjoying their home’s new addition, they noticed how interested in the couch their dogs were and on top of that, heard a faint bell noise.

That was enough to pique the duo’s interest in investigating further what unexpectedly came home with their sofa.

Of course, all of this was documented on TikTok, where the couple shared a video, which now has over 800,000 views, of them flipping part of the couch sideways to reveal the little orange cat, fittingly named Cheeto, before showing him safely in a crate in their living room.

But it was no easy feat removing Cheeto from the inside of the couch.

“We probably spent every bit of another hour or two trying to get her out by pssting at her and trying to reach her enough to pet him so she’d be comfortable,” Hardin told Newsweek. “Then we started trying dog treats and dog food because that was all I had.”

Finally, the duo cut a hole in the bottom of the couch to reach in and grab their new furry friend, according to the outlet.

“that cat really didnt want you to have his couch,” one person commented on the video.

“cat woke up from a nap like where tf am I,” someone else joked.

“Buying used furniture is wild,” chimed in another commenter.

While some people are discovering animals hidden in their homes, others are finding more tame things like 100-year-old-old letters and left behind wedding dresses.

Soon-to-be-bride, Illinois resident Kaitlyn Ostolaza, discovered a forgotten wedding dress in the attic of her new home.

“This is not the previous owners wedding dress. Hoping to use something left behind as my something borrowed for our wedding. I just know whoever wore this dress looked amazing in it. The train is everything,” her caption to a now-viral TikTok video read.
