Did the Boston Celtics try to trade Jaylen Brown to another rival at the 2026 NBA trade deadline? Celtics President of Basketball Operations Brad Stevens took a lot of heat for dealing the Georgia native to the Philadelphia 76ers for Paul George and a handful of draft assets at the start of the offseason, but we have heard reports that this is not the first such attempt by Boston’ front office to end the Brown era of the Celtics.
Evidently, ahead of the last trade deadline, Stevens and company had been trying to trade the Cal alum to the Golden State Warriors, only to have the deal fall through when the Dubs decided Boston’s ask was too large.
