The Pittsburgh Steelers are gearing up for an exciting regular season opener, but their Week 1 opponents, the Atlanta Falcons, have executed a few roster moves to put themselves in a better position for Sunday’s clash.
On Saturday, the Falcons made their first practice squad elevations of the 2026 season, in addition to placing a key depth piece on injured reserve. Less than 24 hours before the Week 1 game against Pittsburgh, the Falcons elevated outside linebacker Bralen Trice and tight end Nick Muse from their practice squad to the active/inactive roster. The team also placed offensive tackle Cameron Williams on IR.
Trice, who was drafted by Atlanta in the third round of the 2024 NFL Draft, has dealt with multiple knee injuries during the first two years of his career. He was waived on August 30, 2026, but was subsequently re-signed to the Falcons’ practice squad. He could play a big role with Atlanta down two starting edge rushers, in addition to Za’Darius Smith battling a shoulder injury ahead of Week 1.
Muse, who’s previously played for the Minnesota Vikings (2022-2024), Philadelphia Eagles (2024), Arizona Cardinals (2025), Los Angeles Rams (2025), New York Jets (2025), and Detroit Lions (2026), signed with the Falcons on August 11, 2026. Although he was released as part of final roster cuts, Muse was brought back to Atlanta via the practice squad. He has appeared in just 16 games from 2022 to 2024, primarily in a special teams capacity.
