Gen Z tends to get a bad rap, especially when it comes to fashion. Sure, some may be misguided, bringing back low-rise bottoms and other tricky trends we’d prefer to leave in the past. But others get credit for reviving styles we actually do want to wear again — like classic, block-heeled ballet flats, a mainstay in many millennial children’s wardrobes.
In recent months, stars like Kaia Gerber, Olivia Rodrigo, Maude Apatow and Hailey Bieber have made it clear that no closet is complete without Repetto’s Camille Ballet Flats. They’ve worked the current ‘It’ shoe into their chicest outfits, styling it with pencil skirts, boot-cut jeans, red carpet dresses and even loungewear, quickly making Us covet a pair for ourselves. But while the forever-chic footwear choice would no doubt complement our fit-and-flares and gingham shorts this spring, there’s one issue: the price. The high-end pair costs $470, but we found a similar shoe on Amazon that retails for a reasonable $38.

While Repetto’s version is made of real leather (hence the cost), Call It Spring’s Luucy ballet flat is faux. However, we’re not opposed to the vegan alternative — rather, the fact that it’s made from 30% recycled mattresses is actually a plus. The shoe’s adorable design is the true selling point, though. Like its pricier counterpart, it features a rounded toe and a small block heel for some height, along with a tiny bow detail that adds to its feminine charm. Since it slips on easily, this pick is one you can keep by the door, making it your new go-to in place of sportier sneakers or casual, double-strap slides.
Although many Amazon shoppers recommend sizing up, they can’t get enough of the Call It Spring flat, with one person calling the “10/10” find “so perfect and cute.”
“A lot better than I imagined,” another customer admitted in their review. “These heels are exceptionally comfortable. I sized up, and they fit perfectly, so they do run a bit small. The color was exact, and this style is very modest, perfect for church. They were also not slippery, which has oddly been a problem for me with a lot of short heels. I wore them for 6 hours and found myself only tired in the last 30 minutes of wearing these; it was astounding.”
One reviewer even claimed they “provide good arch support,” adding that they “are comfortable and can be worn with numerous outfits.”
Although black will get you that Gen Z star-approved look, the same pair also comes in beige, with sizes 5 through 11 available. We’re tempted to grab both colors, which will still save Us so much money while nailing this too-cool, elevated trend.
