Georgia youth softball coach attacks rival on pitcher’s mound in wild catfight caught on video

Catfight!

A youth softball coach was arrested for allegedly charging at a rival coach at the end of an Easter weekend matchup in Georgia — as video of the entire brawl has gone viral.

Meredith Haskew Grant, the coach for an 8U softball team, claimed she lost it after some players on the opposing team made fun of her daughter, according to an arrest report obtained by KOMO News.

Grant was seen storming up to one coach after the elementary schoolers finished high-fiving at the end of Saturday’s game.

She cut through the squad of children and pounced on one coach, according to video captured by the rival team.

Both women tumbled into the dirt, nearly taking down a little girl in the process. The children fled to their respective dugouts as the women made it back to their feet and continued their catfight, the viral video shows.

A cover of Miley Cyrus’ breakup ballad “Wrecking Ball” blared over the speakers while the adults locked horns.

They eventually wound up back in the dirt as more coaches rushed to pull them apart. Horrified parents called for someone to “get those jerks out of here.”

When others tried to intervene, Grant continued “throwing hands at every single one” of them, as described by one of the victimized coaches.

“If we don’t have more restraint than this, you shouldn’t be coaching children. Ever. For those spreading rumors about what happened, the big eye in the sky doesn’t lie. Do better,” one coach wrote on Facebook.

Grant also claimed that one of the rival coaches “got in her face” during the end-of-game handshakes, according to the arrest report.

Cops, though, determined Grant was the aggressor and charged her with misdemeanor battery.

The state director of the United States Fastpitch Association banned Grant from coaching teams participating in any of their future tournaments.
