Halftime Observations

  • Jamal Musiala and Florian Wirtz both look much better than in the last game against the USMNT

  • Counters and defending in general is still an area for improvement for Germany

  • Curaçao equalizing was a massive moment for them.

11′ – Leroy Sane holds on to the ball too long and couldn’t get a shot off.

9′ – Nmecha nearly scores another with a shot from outside the box.

6′ – TOR! Felix Nmecha plays a 1-2 with Florian Wirtz, who returns it to Nmecha who shoots first time to put Germany ahead!

3′ – Germany get inside the box but the final touch was lacking and the ball is cleared.

Germany is raring to go for its first match at the 2026 World Cup, going up against debutants Curaçao. The two countries have never played against each other before, with the Germans being heavy favorites.

Manuel Neuer has made his return to the national team after initially retiring from it, while Jamal Musiala, Florian Wirtz and co. will have to step up their game in the absence of Serge Gnabry and Lennart Karl.
