May is typically the slowest month of the year for NFL news, but New York Giants starting quarterback Jaxson Dart is making a lot of headlines this holiday weekend. Dart was called out, by his teammate, defensive end Abdul Carter on social media. With so little to talk about, regarding the National Football League, the media went into overdrive.
The Giants two first round picks in 2025 (Carter went 3rd overall out of Penn State, Dart 25th overall out of Ole Miss) expressed polar opposite political viewpoints, leading to speculation that New York could see their locker room divided over this incident.
It all began when Dart introducted the current President, Donald Trump, at a political rally Friday night at Rockland Community College in Suffern, New York. The event was staged on behalf of New York congressman Mike Lawler in a venue 35 miles northwest of New York City.
“What an honor, what a privilege it is to be here,” Dart said when he took to the podium. “And without further ado, I’m grateful, I’m honored, I’m pleasured to introduce the 45th and 47th president of the United State of America, President Donald J. Trump.”
Dart did not express any specific political positions at this rally, but his appearance at the event is a political endorsement within itself.
This prompted Carter to post the following on Twitter /X: “thought this s— was AI, what we doing man.”
From there, the hot takes started proliferating exponentially. It wasn’t long until Carter posted again, this time to try and stop the narratives, which he helped inspire, from taking off.
“Me and JD6 are good! We spoke earlier as Men. Yall can keep yall narratives,” Carter posted on Twitter/X.

And with that, Carter was basically saying: “nothing to see here, no divided locker room, just go back to your Memorial Day Weekend parties and barbecues.”
Enjoy expressing your first amendment rights, on this patriotic holiday weekend, everyone.
