Harrowing photos captured the aftermath of a helicopter that crashed into a Florida warehouse on Monday, leaving “no survivors” on board, according to authorities.
The Robinson R44 helicopter with two people on board crashed into the building in Boynton Beach around 12:30 p.m., according to the Federal Aviation Administration.
Police and fire officials arriving on the scene discovered the small helicopter had plummeted through the roof of the vacant warehouse, the Boynton Beach Police Department said.
The two unidentified people on the helicopter were killed in the wreck.
“There are no survivors,” police said in a statement.
Tragic photos showed debris from the helicopter lodged where the aircraft had smashed a hole through the roof of the building.
Witness Rhett Savidge told the Sun Sentinel that he saw the maroon-colored helicopter quickly dropping out of the sky as he was driving to work at a tractor dealership.
“It just nosedived right into the roof, and it punched a hole in the roof,” Savidge recalled.
The helicopter damaged a sprinkler system when it struck the roof of the newly built warehouse, the outlet reported.
The NTSB will lead the investigation into the crash.
