How to watch Mexico vs England live: Stream, TV channel, team news, prediction

Co-hosts Mexico meet England at the Azteca in Mexico City on Sunday, with an almighty scrap expected for a spot in the quarterfinals.

WATCH — Mexico v England, en Espanol

Javier Aguirre’s side have won all four of their games at the 2026 World Cup without conceding a goal, breezing through the group stage and then sailing past Ecuador in the last 16. Mexico’s fans are fully behind their team and will create an incredible atmosphere as they know this will be their final game of the World Cup on home soil no matter what happens.

England have huffed and puffed their way through this tournament, as they usually do, and (as usual) they have Harry Kane to thank for bailing them out. Trailing DR Congo 1-0 late on in their Round of 32 game, Thomas Tuchel’s side looked to have run out of ideas as they came up against yet another stubborn defense and a goalkeeper playing out of this world. Then Kane popped up with two late goals to send them into the last 16. They can improve at the back and their fluidity isn’t great, but Tuchel is finding ways to drag them along.

How to watch Mexico vs England live, stream link and start time

Kick off time: 8pm ET Sunday (July 5)
Venue: Estadio Azteca — Mexico City, Mexico
TV Channel: Telemundo
Streaming: Stream live on Peacock, en Espanol

Mexico team news, focus

There are no injury issues for Mexico as they continue to look extremely solid, and teenager Gilberto Mora is a real talent in midfield. Raul Jimenez will lead the line and Roberto Alvarado and Julian Quinones have been excellent out wide. Mexico will press England high and look to feed off the home advantage, and being used to the altitude, to come roaring out of the traps.

Tuchel has a couple of big decisions to make but this could be quite a different game for England. At this tournament they’ve struggled against teams (Ghana, Panama and DR Congo) who sit in and defend deep and launch counters. Mexico will look to have more of the ball and that may suit England and give them a bit more space. Anthony Gordon played a key role off the bench against DR Congo, setting up both of Kane’s goals, and could come in for Marcus Rashford on the left. Bukayo Saka is building up his fitness and it seems like he is now ready to start and he should come in. Reece James and Jarell Quansah continue to recover from injury which means Djed Spence should start at right back. But Declan Rice could even play out of position at right back with England adding more creativity in midfield with Eberechi Eze and Morgan Rogers options, or Jude Bellingham playing a bit deeper as his fine tournament continues.

Mexico vs England prediction

This has the feel of an all-time classic and Mexico will give absolutely everything to keep their dream World Cup journey going. But it feels like England have just found a knack of grinding out wins and will somehow get this done. Mexico 2-3 England.
