I’m a solo traveler — this is the unusual way I score free food, drinks and guided tours in every country I visit

She collects paramours like passport stamps.

A solo traveler gets a “temporary boyfriend” in every new country she visits, saying it’s an ingenious way to score free food and authentically immerse herself in local culture.

Orsolya Lorincz, 34, detailed her unorthodox travel hack in an interview with Jam Press, insisting that she’s upfront with the men she meets, who are more than happy to accommodate her.

“They usually last for a week,” Orsolya, who is based in Romania, said of her vacation romances. “It depends on how long I stay in their country.”

The savvy traveller says that, once she lands in a new nation, she immediately begins swiping for potential suitors on the dating app Hinge.

“I find, pretty fast, a local guy who is OK with being a temporary boyfriend,” she explained. “[He] shows me around, cooks breakfast for me, buys drinks and food and sometimes I even stay at their place, if we are vibing very well.”

Orsolya started solo travelling back in 2016 after quitting her day job and selling her apartment.

She’s able to conserve her finite funds with the help of her temporary boyfriends.

“I don’t use them for free trips, more like free meals and tour guides,” she clarified. “I stop seeing them once I leave the country.”

Orsolya alleges that her temporary partners are particularly helpful in helping her avoid overrated tourist traps.

“When you know locals, they can show you things; secret spots or traditions that travel agencies can’t. It helps to experience the country in a more unique way,” the wanderluster exclaimed.

Orsolya says she enjoys the experience of traveling alone as she dislikes being tied down by a set itinerary or another person’s needs.

“The benefit is that I have the freedom to come and go to a country as I want and I don’t always have to coordinate with a partner,” she explained.

While she didn’t detail how she stays safe while romancing men on her travels, she said she hopes that speaking publicly about her experiences will help “normalize women being more free.”

Orsolya recently posted to social media about her “temporary boyfriends” – and has since received plenty of offers to help her continue her travelling tradition.

“I get offers in my DMs and comments to be the girlfriend of people around the world,” the adventurer enthused. “They say I can visit their country and be their girlfriend for the week.”
