An iconic Southern California fast food chain expanded its brand to South America with a new pop-up shop that debuted on Tuesday.

In-N-Out unveiled a new pop-up in Lima, Peru on Tuesday, which the Irvine, California-based company confirmed via email.

“I can confirm that we recently held an event in Lima, Peru, and had a great experience. This event was a part of our global series to build brand awareness and test the local marketplace,” a rep told The California Post.

The pop-up was held at a Lima burger/BBQ restaurant called Bro BBQ, open for just a few hours from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

A local Instagram user dubbed frnccsco captured video from the event, which opened with a shot of the menu, serving the beloved Double-Double, plus hamburgers, cheeseburgers and animal style and protein style burgers, along with potato chips.

Fans could also purchase hats and t-shirts, with the video showing employees handing out the iconic In-N-Out paper hats to patrons, and customers chowing down on the tasty burgers.

Another patron was a Southern California native who shared their experience on Reddit, along with more photos from the pop-up.

A Redditor dubbed ADinner0fOnions posted on the In-N-Out Reddit page, revealing that they had been in Peru “for awhile” and “had to check it out.”

“Unfortunately had to bail to catch a flight and wasn’t able to get a burger so I gave my wristband to someone else… but they let me in to check it out and take some pics!” the Redditor said.

“Talked with the staff and they told me that they travel the world setting up popups and always only give 24 hour notice for when they’re setting up shop,” they added.

“Seems like an awesome gig. Also REALLY awesome seeing 1000+ folks lining up to give in n out a try. Burger diplomacy in action,” they continued.

They concluded by stating, “Aside from family and such, in n out is one of the things I miss the most about back home. Super cool to see here. Viva in n out!!!”

It’s unclear if there are any plans for future pop-ups in South America, or a more permanent fast food footprint on the continent for In-N-Out.
