An Iowa State University student was accused of sexually abusing an unconscious woman during a raucous Halloween frat party after he allegedly texted the victim and admitted to assaulting her.

Blake Grask, a 19-year-old civil engineering major, was charged last month with sexually abusing a woman who witnesses said was “non-verbal, not responsive, not moving and as if they were asleep,” the Iowa State Daily reported.

The assault took place during a Halloween party at the Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity house, where the student had pledged, but he wasn’t charged until Jan. 21, the Ames Tribune reported.

The day after the party, Grask allegedly messaged the victim over Snapchat and confessed to the assault, which she didn’t remember consenting to, but insisted they didn’t have intercourse, the outlet reported.

A no-contact order was put in place between Grask and the victim, according to court documents.

Grask, an Iowa native who graduated from a preppy Catholic school in the spring, enrolled at ISU last semester. He already had nearly four dozen college credits under his belt for courses he completed at St. Louis University and Des Moines Area Community College while he was in high school, according to his LinkedIn.

In his flashy profile picture, Grask appears stone-faced as he drapes his jacket over one shoulder. In his mugshot, though, the facade is dropped as he glowers at the camera.

In March, Grask was the recipient of a $3,000 scholarship from an engineering firm, according to his LinkedIn.

The student was charged with third-degree sexual abuse, which could put him behind bars for more than a decade. He posted a $25,000 bond on Feb. 2.
