Jimto Obidegwu’s tenure with the Jaguars
The Jaguars signed Obidegwu as an undrafted free agent following the 2026 NFL draft.
What to know about Jimto Obidegwu
Obidegwu is an experienced player, having spent two seasons at Temple, two at Kent State, and this past year at North Texas. He’s played over 2,100 career snaps on offense, seeing playing time at both tackle positions.
This past season was his best, however, and it came at right tackle. Obidegwu didn’t surrender any sacks and allowed 10 pressures over 367 pass-blocking snaps. Among all tackles, he ranked tied for ninth in PFF’s pass-blocking efficiency metric and 68th in run-blocking grade.
Looking ahead to 2026 for Jimto Obidegwu
When it comes to making the 53-man roster, Obidegwu faces a very crowded position group. The nine linemen who were on the roster last year are all still with the team, while the Jaguars also added Emmanuel Pregnon to the mix in the draft. That’s 10 potential roster spots already accounted for at a position where most teams roster nine to 10 players. Obidegwu’s ceiling in Year 1 may be as a practice squad player, where he’ll have the opportunity to continue developing.
