Detroit Lions wide receiver Jameson Williams will miss his second straight practice Monday, Aug. 17, with a shoulder injury.

Lions coach Dan Campbell indicated Williams’ absence is precautionary.

“He’s got a little shoulder. He’s good to go, though,” Campbell said.

Williams is one of a handful of players dealing with minor injuries at the midpoint of training camp. The Lions play their second exhibition game Saturday against the Washington Commanders, then close the preseason on the road on Aug. 29 against the Indianapolis Colts.

Detroit Lions wide receiver Jameson Williams (1) practiceduring training camp at Meijer Performance Center in Allen Park on Monday, August 10, 2026.

Cornerback Nick Whiteside, who is dealing with a minor hamstring injury, and guard Ben Bartch, who is returning from Lisfranc surgery, are among others who will not practice Monday.

Williams finished second on the Lions last season with 65 catches and 1,117 yards, both career highs. He has had a strong camp as the Lions’ primary deep threat playing opposite Amon-Ra St. Brown.

Whiteside has split first-team reps as the No. 2 cornerback, opposite D.J. Reed, while Bartch is competing for the starting left guard spot and took some first-team reps in practice Sunday. Tay Martin took some first-team reps at receiver in Williams’ absence Sunday.

“I don’t think anything – these aren’t serious,” Campbell said.
