A MAJOR UK motorway has ground to a halt in the wake of a horror two-vehicle smash.
The M60 in Greater Manchester is currently closed clockwise between junction 25 and junction 26 near Stockport.
Emergency services were scrambled to the scene after two cars collided on the busy road.
Fire crews and paramedics were also scrambled to the scene alongside National Highways Traffic Officers.
It remains unclear if anyone was seriously injured in the horror smash.
Road users are being diverted around the closure as emergency crews work to deal with the chaotic scene.

Drivers are warned to expect delays along the route and have been asked to plan ahead.
National Highways said: “The M60 in Greater Manchester is closed clockwise between J25 and J26 (near Stockport, Bredbury) due to a serious collision between 2 cars.
“All emergency services including Greater Manchester Police are in attendance.
“National Highways Traffic Officers are on scene to assist with traffic management.
“If this incident impacts on your planned route, please allow extra journey time.
“Plan ahead, you may wish to re-route or even delay your journey.”
