A BUSINESSMAN who slapped his wife and nibbled a male attendant’s ear on a British Airways flight has been jailed.
Philip Gould, 64, had downed vodka and wine on the ten-hour journey from the Bahamas to London Heathrow.
He was returning home from the luxury holiday with his wife Jurkea when he attacked her and then abused cabin crew.
Gould offered to perform a sex act on a male flight attendant in the toilet and said it would be the “best of his life”.
He then kissed the BA worker and nibbled his ear before slapping his wife and grabbing her hair.
The drunk flyer also repeatedly called cabin crew “c***s” before he lunged towards the cockpit door and began angrily shouting at the captain.
Following his arrest Gould told police he was “engaging in playful banter with the crew”.
Gould has now been jailed for 14 months after he pleaded guilty to being drunk in an aircraft, sexual assault on a male, two counts of assault by beating and recklessly acting in a manner likely to endanger an aircraft.
Isleworth Crown Court heard he had been drinking wine and vodka in June last year when the mid-air drama unfolded.
Ashleigh Ettienne, prosecuting, earlier said: “After three hours into the flight, the defendant appeared to be drunk and cabin crew was made aware.
“Ten minutes later he approached the cockpit and started banging on the door and was seen shouting at cabin crew, the captain and passengers.”
The flight attendants attempted to position themselves between the flight deck door and Gould but he shoved one into a passenger.
BA staff then alerted the pilot and told Gould to calm down, which only aggravated him more, the court heard.
The businessman screamed: “I’ll kill you. There are not enough people on the plane to restrain me.”
When a panicked air hostess tried to intervene after he slapped his wife, Gould shouted at her: “Why are you talking to my wife you are a s**g. You’re pretty.”
Ms Ettienne said: “He then stood up and put his arms around her and while doing so, he kissed a male flight attendant on the right cheek, followed by nibbling on his ear.”
The prosecutor continued: “The defendant’s escalating behaviour was frightening and he became a serious safety issue.”
Gould eventually fell asleep but was arrested at Heathrow when the Boeing 777-200 twinjet touched down.
He later claimed the combination of wine and vodka “had sent him over the edge”.
Gould was the director of a business management consultancy firm called Blacklight Management, which he ran with his wife, according to Companies House documents.
