THIS is the shocking moment a cop desperately clung to the side of a car as a drug dealer dragged him down the road while trying to flee.
Josef Zielinski had been stopped in Sudbury, Suffolk by a marked car pulling in front of him.
Two officers approached the 33-year-old’s car, with one seen chatting to him through the open driver’s door.
PC Owen Turner was then forced to cling to the side of the vehicle as his colleague was knocked over.
Footage showed the officer being dragged by Zielinski as he reversed before smashing into a stationary vehicle behind.
PC Turner even turned the engine off to avoid another incident but Zielinski switched it back on before he was eventually removed from the car and detained.
Police later found ten wraps of cocaine under the vehicle, which Zielinski had discarded during the struggle.
He has now been jailed for four years after admitting possession of cocaine with intent to supply, dangerous driving, two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and criminal damage.
Zielinski was also handed a three-year driving ban at Ipswich Crown Court.
PC Turner said he feared he “might die” and that he feared his “colleague and friend was either seriously injured or dead”.
He added: “I conduct vehicle stops daily and what I thought would be a simple stop left me thinking that I might die and that my colleague and friend was either seriously injured or dead.
“What Zielinski did showed his only desire was to escape, with no regard for anyone other than himself.
“This is something that I will never forget and it will stay with me forever.”
