Nancy Pelosi’s husband Paul Pelosi has broken cover for the first time since he was charged over his Fourth of July weekend crash in Napa County.
In exclusive photographs by The California Post, the 86-year-old was seen arriving at the family’s home in San Francisco on Sunday.
He sported a navy-blue quilted puffer vest over a light oatmeal-colored short-sleeved polo shirt and a pair of blue-gray golf trousers. Pelosi kept his head low as he walked across the property.
Pelosi was charged with misdemeanor hit-and-run Friday for crashing his brown convertible into a parked and fleeing the scene on July 3.
Napa County Sheriff’s deputies responded to reports of a hit-and-run on the 6700 block of Yount Street in Yountville on July 3 around 2:30 pm, according to a press release.
A witness who called 911 pointed officials in the direction of a northbound vehicle seen colliding with the rear of a parked car on the shoulder, causing major damage. The collision also pushed the parked car’s right tire up onto the curb.
Pelosi quickly left the scene only to find that his car had become disabled because of the crash.
After police tracked down Pelosi, the husband of former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, he admitted to hitting something in his car but said he wasn’t aware what he struck.
Pelosi’s rocky driving history includes at least eight driving violations over more than a decade-long period before the July 3 crash in Yountville, the New York Times reported. In the latest crash he has been cited for speeding, blowing through several red lights, and even driving the wrong way down a one-way street.
When Pelosi was just a teenager in 1957, he was behind the wheel of a Corvette south of San Francisco when he lost control of the car, killing his 19-year-old brother David, who was a passenger in the vehicle.
