In an interview with Radio CRC, Pasquale Mazzocchi returned to the topic of the last league match between Napoli and Roma, which ended 2-2.
The Italian winger came on in the final minutes of the game, immediately after the goal that leveled the scoreline.
The former Salernitana player highlighted the high intensity of the match: “In Napoli-Roma, I don’t think we lacked anything; it was a very physical match with many challenges won by both sides.”
“In my opinion, they played some parts of the game better than us, but I think that with all the difficulties we’re facing, we showed that we’re fighting tooth and nail to at least get a draw.”
In his speech, Mazzocchi then drew a comparison with last season: “Last year, we won the league with the best defense, so it’s important to point out that Roma have this characteristic today. When you face teams with a solid and strong defense, it’s difficult to score against them.”
Finally, the winger emphasized the coaching staff’s contribution to managing the match: “But the coach did well to find the equalizer with his substitutions.”
