Nebraska coach Matt Rhule takes defensive back recruit around Lincoln

A class of 2027 recruit announced his visit to Lincoln in a unique way. Defensive back Kamauri Whitfield posted a video with coach Matt Rhule, which showed the two driving around town.

Whitfield is an intriguing three-star prospect in this class. He is the 76th-ranked corner and the 50th-ranked player in his class from the state of Florida, according to the Rivals Industry Rankings. He has several offers on the table, including from Florida, Virginia Tech, Oregon, and Georgia Tech.

The Huskers are putting together a solid secondary group in the class of 2027. Four-star safety Corey Hadley will help bolster the safety position, while four-star recruit Bryce Williams will be able to provide depth at corner. Nebraska’s class of 2027 ranks 16th overall according to the Rivals industry Rankings.

Nebraska is facing stiff competition in Whitfield’s recruitment. One advantage the Huskers have is that he was a teammate of 2026 commit Danny Odem at the First Academy in Orlando.

There’s no doubt that Odem was helping with peer recruiting this past weekend. Either way, this recruitment is worth watching over the next couple of weeks.
