The Baltimore Ravens stunned the NFL world Tuesday prior to the start of free agency when Maxx Crosby’s proposed deal was cancelled without any warning.

Now, the Las Vegas Raiders and their star pass rusher are in an awkward situation with the NFL free agency period starting on March 11. However, Baltimore might move on quickly from Crosby, according to one NFL general manager.

NFL insider Jordan Schultz stated an NFL GM has the Ravens going after All-Pro pass rusher Trey Hendrickson. The Cincinnati Bengals star has been linked to several teams as the 31 year old becomes a free agent Wednesday.

Several NFL teams will likely have interest in both Crosby and Hendrickson, however, Baltimore won’t receive many flowers for how they’ve handled the Raiders situation.

Las Vegas have created buzz this offseason with proposed trades in place for Tyler Linderbaum, Nakobe Dean and Quay Walker. Reports indicate that the Raiders have allocated over $260 million to proposed free agents.

It’s clear that new Baltimore head coach Jesse Minter wants to bulk up the Ravens defense. A move for Hendrickson would certainly accomplish that after posting 17.5 sacks in 2023 and 2024.

Meanwhile, Hendrickson’s looming free agent status would allow Baltimore to retain its multiple first-round picks. Baltimore originally proposed 2026 and 2027 first rounders in the failed Crosby trade.

Cincinnati Bengals star Trey Hendrickson is double-teamed by the Green Bay Packers during an NFL game.

The Crosby saga will certainly be followed closely as well when NFL free agency begins because the Raiders have to decide if they’re willing to keep the veteran pass rusher or attempt another trade.
