Nicola Peltz’s Dad Nelson Breaks His Silence on Her Feud With Beckham Family: ‘My Daughter Is Great’

Nicola Peltz’s dad, Nelson Peltz, is weighing in on her ongoing feud with husband Brooklyn Beckham’s family.

“My daughter and the Beckhams are a whole other story and that’s not for coverage here today,” Nelson, 83, shared during a Q&A at WSJD’s Invest Live in West Palm Beach event on Tuesday, February 3. “But I’ll tell you my daughter is great, my son-in-law Brooklyn is great and I look forward to them having a long, happy marriage together.”

While at the event, Nelson was asked if he had provided Nicola, 31, and Brooklyn, 26, with any advice on how to navigate a difficult situation.

“I do,” he replied, per the Daily Mail. “Sometimes they give me advice.”

Brooklyn broke his silence in January on the drama surrounding his relationship with his family — which includes mom Victoria Beckham and dad David Beckham. (The couple are also parents to sons Romeo, 23, and Cruz, 20, and daughter Harper, 14.)

“I have been silent for years and made every effort to keep these matters private. Unfortunately, my parents and their team have continued to go to the press, leaving me with no choice but to speak for myself and tell the truth about only some of the lies that have been printed,” Brooklyn wrote via his Instagram Story last month. “I do not want to reconcile with my family. I’m not being controlled, I’m standing up for myself for the first time in my life.”

In the lengthy statement, Brooklyn went on to claim that Victoria, 51, “hijacked” his first dance with Nicola at their wedding and “danced very inappropriately on me in front of everyone.” He wrote, “I’ve never felt more uncomfortable or humiliated in my entire life.” (Us Weekly reached out to David and Victoria’s reps for comment at the time.)

In Us Weekly’s cover story last month, a source shared that Victoria was “inconsolable” after Brooklyn’s social media statement.

“She was completely blown away that Brooklyn went to this level,” the insider shared, noting that the former Spice Girl texted with Brooklyn “briefly” over the holidays and was under the impression that things were moving forward in a positive direction. “She and David never thought he’d do something like this.”

The source shared that Brooklyn had felt controlled by his parents for a long time, while a separate insider noted that he felt sharing his statement publicly “was the only way to get through to them.”

Amid the ongoing drama, Brooklyn’s connection with Nicola, Nelson and mother-in-law Claudia Peltz has offered him comfort.

“He has an amazing relationship with her mom and dad. He’s never had that kind of closeness before,” the first source shared of Nicola’s parents. “His parents’ controlling ways have been more exposed since he got married.”

Despite the scathing statement, the insider noted that Brooklyn is “living his life” and he and Nicola have been relatively unbothered.

“He’s happy, rich and has everything going for him. He has freedom,” the source shared. “He and Nicola are not sitting around waiting for a phone call.”
