The Oklahoma City Thunder announced on Sunday that Nikola Topic has been recalled from the G League’s OKC Blue. He will be part of their squad for the rest of the way as they’re down to eight regular-season games.
After nearly two seasons of being sidelined, Topic finally made his NBA debut right before the All-Star break. The Thunder added him with the No. 12 pick of the 2024 NBA draft. He missed all of last season recovering from a torn ACL. He missed the first four months of this season dealing with testicular cancer. He received the shocking diagnosis in Oct. 2025.
After completing chemotherapy in Jan. 2026, Topic slowly worked his way back to the court. He’s appeared in five games for OKC. Since his return, he’s mostly spent time in the G League. He played in 13 games with the Blue. He averaged 18.4 points and 7.8 assists.
Now that the Blue’s G League regular season is over, Topic has returned to the Thunder. He likely won’t see much action in the final two weeks of the NBA’s regular season, but still good to see him back in OKC. Don’t expect much out of him, minus the usual garbage-time minutes.
