Pink is breaking down the reason behind her family’s recent move to the Big Apple.
“We actually moved here because I am an amazing mom,” Pink, 46, quipped during the Monday, March 2, episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show after singing “Hopeless War” from The Outsiders with daughter Willow, 14.
As the audience laughed, Pink added, “and also so Willow could study theater and experience more Broadway.”
Pink’s comment comes days after a source told Us Weekly that she and husband Carey Hart had split after 20 years of marriage. (The pair, who tied the knot in 2006, also share son Jameson, 9.)
Reps for Pink and Hart did not respond to Us’ requests for comment. Pink, however, denied the speculation via Instagram on Thursday, February 26.
“I was just alerted to the fact that I’m separated from my husband. I didn’t know,” Pink said, in part, before adding in the caption, “If you don’t hear it from me, don’t believe the hype. Stay tuned though! Who knows what could happen next!?!”
Pink, who is set to guest host Kelly Clarkson’s eponymous talk show for the week, kicked off her gig by being suspended from the ceiling while fastened to a harness. She previously confirmed her guest hosting role in February.
“I’ve played stadiums and danced on the side of buildings, but stepping in to guest host for my girl Kelly Clarkson is a brand new feat!” Pink shared in a statement at the time. “Let’s celebrate women, joy, resilience, and whatever comes else comes our way!”
Clarkson, meanwhile, shared earlier that month that her talk show would be coming to an end after this season.
“I have been extremely fortunate to work with such an outstanding group of people at The Kelly Clarkson Show, both in Los Angeles and New York,” Clarkson, 43, said in a statement to Us. “There have been so many amazing moments and shows over these seven seasons. I am forever grateful and honored to have worked alongside the greatest band and crew you could hope for, all the talent and inspiring people who have shared their time and lives with us, all the fans who have supported our show and to NBC for always being such a supportive and incredible partner.”
She continued, “Because of all of that, this was not an easy decision, but this season will be my last hosting The Kelly Clarkson Show. Stepping away from the daily schedule will allow me to prioritize my kids, which feels necessary and right for this next chapter of our lives.”
Clarkson added that “this isn’t goodbye,” noting that she will “still be making music, playing shows here and there, and you may catch me on The Voice from time to time.”
She concluded, “You never know where I might show up next. But for now, I want to thank y’all so much for allowing our show to be a part of your lives, and for believing in us and hanging with us for seven incredible years.”
