A pregnant young mother was killed in a suspected DUI crash while heading out for a late-night snack.Bianca Esquivel, 24, had returned home with her boyfriend from In-N-Out to satisfy a pregnancy craving when a driver struck them early Sunday morning, NBCLA reported.

“We weren’t expecting to lose Bianca at such an early age,” Esquivel’s grief-stricken sister told the outlet through tears. “The baby that was in her womb didn’t have the opportunity to even come to life. That person took that opportunity from that little angel.”Daniel Ramos, 24, from Riverside, was taken into custody on charges of felony DUI and vehicular manslaughter after officers at the scene reportedly observed clear signs he was impaired.

Ramos ran a red light in his Lexus and hit a Toyota driven by Bianca Esquivel’s boyfriend, Oscar, Police said. The crash happened around 12:10 a.m. Sunday at North Anaheim Boulevard and State Route 91.

A GoFundMe page set up to raise money for “Bianca and her unborn angel” has raised around $1,000 of its $25,000 goal.

“Any donation or share means more than words can express, and we are incredibly grateful for the love and support being shown to Bianca, the angel she took with her, and her family,” the GoFundMe page reads.

Esquivel’s sister said Bianca’s boyfriend was waiting for surgery on a broken arm. Esquivel is survived by her 4-year-old son, who keeps asking for his mother.

“I personally don’t know how to answer ‘Where’s my mommy?’ because his mommy isn’t coming back,” Viri Esquivel, the victim’s sister, told NBCLA.

Authorities say additional charges could be filed against the suspected DUI driver because the victim was pregnant.
