Rihanna returns to Met Gala 2026 fashionably late in a sculptural metallic ensemble alongside A$AP Rocky

She’s Rih-claiming the night.

Picking up right where she left off, Rihanna brought Met Gala fans in the stands to their knees, making her victorious comeback to the 2026 Met Gala Monday night.

A vision in jewels, the Grammy-winning mom of three was first spotted leaving The Carlyle Hotel on the Upper East Side fashionably late, dressed in a sculptural metallic ensemble, en route to celebrate The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s spring 2026 “Costume Art” exhibit.

Wearing an intricate work of art from Maison Margiela by Glenn Martens, coupled with an Art Deco-style headpiece, the diva posed side-by-side with boyfriend, A$AP Rocky, on the famous steps.

The dapper rapper, who co-hosted the 2025 Met Gala, honoring the theme “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style, popped out in pink custom Chanel by Matthieu Blazy. His blazer, featuring black satin lapels and black piping details, came embellished with a black silk and feather camélia.

Rocky, a native New Yorker, finished the look with black trousers and a white cotton shirt. The “Don’t Be Dumb” emcee’s entire ensemble took a reported 194 hours to curate, per Vogue.

Rihanna was noticeably absent from the ’25 festivities, yet still managed to steal last year’s show by announcing her pregnancy with newborn daughter, Rocki, just seconds before the red carpet ceremony commenced.

Her signature slay was also sorely missed during the Costume Institute’s 2024 exhibition, “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion,” due to the flu.

The infection, however, didn’t stop cyber-sickos from creating an AI-generated photo of a finely frocked Rihanna at the flowery event. Sadly, the photoshopped fool’s gold tricked a few innocents on the internet into believing the belle had actually made a surprise cameo.

Rihanna last attended the gala three years ago for “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty” in honor of the late designer.

For the 2023 to-do, she closed the carpet in a white Chanel-inspired, camellia flower-covered hooded gown by Valentino.

The “Diamonds” diva, then pregnant with her youngest child, Riot, proudly posed with her bulging baby bump as the rambling train of the dress draped down the museum’s staircase.

She accessorized with a pair of fingerless gloves in remembrance of Lagerfeld, who passed in February 2019.

No stranger to the glitz of the gala, Rihanna routinely earned bragging rights as a haute head-turner at the Met. Her mesmerizing majesty during the fête has even left the NBA baller Carmelo Anthony looking like a deer in headlights.

But the true treatment of Rihanna’s sartorial savagery came in the form of the imperial yellow, fur-trimmed cape by Chinese designer Geo Pei, which she sported at the 2015 gala.

Remembering the buzz that it caused, Rih recently said of the now decade-old look: “I don’t regret it.”
