SIR Keir Starmer is under mounting pressure as calls grow for a sleaze probe into the Peter Mandelson scandal.
Tories say the PM must face questions over whether he misled MPs when appointing the Lord Mandelson as ambassador to Washington.
They have now asked the Government’s ethics watchdog to launch a probe into whether the PM broke the Ministerial Code.
The row erupted after newly released government files showed officials had flagged Lord Mandelson’s links to disgraced paedo financier Jeffrey Epstein.
Critics say the revelation raises serious questions about what the PM knew about the link between the pair and when.
Sir Keir yesterday admitted he had made a “mistake” and apologised to victims of Epstein.
But the apology has failed to calm the political storm.
Tory leader Kemi Badenoch blasted the PM — accusing him of telling “lie after lie after lie”.
A spokesman said: “The full process that was in place at the time was followed.”
He strongly denies any wrongdoing.
The explosive revelations have now sparked a fierce political row — with pressure mounting on the PM to answer fresh questions.
