St Pancras International station in London was briefly evacuated on Tuesday as a police bomb squad carried out a controlled explosion of an unattended car nearby.

In a post on X, Transport for London (TfL) Access said the “Main and North Entrance/Entry” at Kings Cross St Pancras tube station also closed due to the presence of the vehicle, at the request of the Metropolitan Police. It said at 3:24 pm local time that the station had fully reopened.

Police have since declared the incident as non-suspicious.

Images circulating on social media appear to show a silver car parked outside the station with its bonnet up and significant damage to the boot door.

Euronews understands that St Pancras station reopened within around 15 minutes.

Eurostar services are continuing to operate as normal.

“There are no delays to our trains as a result of the incident, and passengers can travel as planned,” the rail service said in a statement posted to social media.

The iconic St Pancras station is a key high-speed rail hub connecting London to destinations across continental Europe, including Paris, Brussels, and Amsterdam.
