The “Happiest Place on Earth” doesn’t live up to its name during happy hour.
Disneyland has quietly raised prices on hundreds of food and drink items, with the average cocktail now priced at a jaw-dropping $21.
The sky-high costs hits guests after a recent spike in prices for food and drinks at the park’s table-service establishments.
The average cost of alcoholic drinks, including beer and premium spirit pours, rose by $1—from $20 to $21, per Mickeyvisit.com.
Disneyland now offers a whopping 118 drinks for $20 and over, up from 77.
The average jump in price was about $1, outside of a handful of major increases for popular drinks at places like Lamplight Lounge and Carthay Circle Lounge and Restaurant in Disney California Adventure Park.
The Tequila Daisy, Double Pear Martini and Aviation Cocktail each now cost $24, up from $22. The Cinnamon Toast Cocktail went from $19.25 to $22.
The increase of a typical menu item in the park increased by about $1 in the latest round of hikes, including sweet treats like cupcakes cookies, and cake pops.
In total, nearly 300 food and drink items have been impacted by the jump, with another anticipated increase coming this fall.
Fans railed against the new prices in a Reddit community post.
“Disney will keep raising prices because people will use ‘I’m on vacation, I’m treating myself’ to justify spending $20 per drink,” one person wrote.
“Sad to think I won’t be able to go back. The price gouging and the insane crowds… but glad I got to see it in the 80s, 90s, and was able to bring my wife there several years ago,” another added.
The latest announcement comes weeks after Disneyland upped prices on over 800 food and drink items across 178 dining locations in its parks and resort hotels — with sweet staples like churros, funnel cakes, Mickey beignets, and Dasani water all being affected.
The move marked yet another financial blow for Disneyland fans, as select admission tickets rose by $18 last October.
