Roster turnover is coming for Vic Schaefer’s Texas Longhorns program in the wake of Friday’s loss in the Final Four to the UCLA Bruins with three players set to enter the NCAA transfer portal as of Tuesday afternoon — forward Aaliyah Moore, forward Justice Carlton, and guard Aaliyah Crump.

While Moore’s departure ends an injury-plagued stint on the Forty Acres that included two seasons lost to knee injuries, the losses of two talented young players in Carlton and Crump are significant for the Longhorns.

Out of Katy Seven Lakes, Carlton arrived on the Forty Acres as a member of the 2024 recruiting class ranked as the No. 12 player nationally, according to ESPN. After making one start last season and averaging 4.6 points in 10.3 minutes per game, Carlton played a bigger role under Schaefer as a sophomore, starting 26 of the 29 games in which she appeared, bolstering his averages to 8.2 points and 4.2 rebounds.

Crump was even more highly touted as a recruit in the 2025 classx at No. 5 nationally out of Minnesota, but missed 15 games after suffering a stress fracture in her foot, returning to reach double digits in scoring in her next four games, including tying her season high with 16 points against LSU and Arkansas, but struggled down the stretch.

The potential playing time for Carlton and Crump next season on the Forty Acres was impacted by Schaefer signing the nation’s No. 1 recruiting class in 2026, with all four signees playing guard or forward.
