The Long Island Rail Road’s top earners each raked in more than $200,000 in overtime pay and made $100,000 more than Gov. Kathy Hochul, according to the latest data.

The workers are part of 3,500 union members whose strike has caused transit chaos on Long Island and in the Big Apple — leaving the train’s nearly 300,00 commuters stranded. The groups are bargaining for a retroactive 9.5% pay increase that would cover the past three years.

Top Five LIRR Earners:

  • Leonardo Espinosa, gang foreman. Employee since August 2005. Espinosa brought in an eye-watering $244,954 in overtime last year on top of a $129,493 salary for a total compensation comes out to $396,749. Espinosa lives in Lynbrook, New York in a duplex valued at $672,000. Espinosa had a tax lien filed against him and his wife by the IRS in December of 2024 for $23,205, according to public records.
  • Steve Delacrausaz, gang foreman. Employee since January 2000. Delacrausaz hauled in a whopping $233,195 in overtime on top of his $133,924 in base salary, bringing his total compensation to over $388,000. Delacrausaz lives in a modest West Babylon, New York.
  • Jeffrey Davies, gang foreman. Employee since October 2005. Davies took home home $233,808 in overtime on top of a $130,291 salary. He lives in an over 6,000-square-foot home in Freeport, New York.
