As Ohio State pursues another quarterback in the 2027 class, one of the targets on the board is Nebraska’s prized commit Trae Taylor.

The Buckeyes staff was recently out to visit Taylor at his school and there has been some dialogue as well with the talented signal-caller who’s been a verbal to the Huskers for nearly a year now.

“At this point in the process Ohio state stands where the other schools stand,” Taylor laughed. “I’m committed to not taking any trips to campus. But I’m definitely not going to ignore any coach that calls me. The way football is now I refuse to burn any bridges.

“But I’m a Cornhusker.”

Taylor has been to Lincoln for every major recruiting weekend since he gave head coach Matt Rhule and his staff a pledge. That included the spring game.

“This spring game to me was awesome,” Taylorr said at the time. “What stands out is the development I’m seeing in many positions. And what really excites me is so many young guys are producing already. Jamal Rule running hard.  Well the whole running back group looked dominant. Luke (Lindenmeyer) crushing people and making a tough catch while getting hit. Claude (Mpouma) is coming a long way fast. There is more I can point to. It just fun to see the young guys working.

“So the staff is clearly working their butts off to develop and of course recruit,” Taylor continued. “I just love this whole staff my offensive staff. We’ve always been on the same page. But to build my relationship with the defensive staff has been so fun.

“Just love what I’m seeing and know I picked the best place for me.”

Rivals ranks Taylor as the No. 5 quarterback in the 2027 class. He is the No. 63 prospect overall per the Rivals Industry.
