Captivity was un-bear-able!

The black bear that vent viral for stubbornly clinging to a tree after cops in Albany tranquilized it was safely released back into the wild, wildlife officials said Thursday.

The curious cub took animal rescues to new heights Tuesday when it made a spectacular plunge from a tree top into a padded net below after a more than six hour standoff, wild footage shows.

The bear was seen in a new video Wednesday happily scampering  into a wooded area away from the heart of the city as wildlife officials set it free, according to state environmental conservation police.

Footage, posted by the agency on Instagram, shows the bear bolting from a metal enclosure into a still-snowy forest of bare trees.

“This time of year, young bears, particularly 1-year old males, disperse from the area of their birth,”  the agency said in the post.

“They may move several dozen miles in this process, and occasionally they wind up in unusual spots, like an urban neighborhood.”

The bold bruin on Tuesday forced cops to block off streets for hours as a crowd of neighbors watched the “Animal Planet”-worthy drama unfold.

After it was shot with a tranquillizer, the strong-willed critter continued to climb higher into  the tree — clinging to branches for roughly two more hours.
