The trans lover of Charlie Kirk’s accused assassin was given limited immunity for statements he made to prosecutors in April.
Lance Twiggs, the 22-year-old roommate and flame of accused shooter Tyler Robinson, could offer key evidence at a multi-day hearing next month in Robinson’s murder case.
Twiggs sat down with prosecutors on April 20 dishing on Robinson in a recorded interview that could be shown to Utah Judge Tony Graf during a preliminary hearing in July.
Twiggs’ messages with Robinson could also be featured at the proceedings, prosecutors said in court papers from Tuesday.
Twiggs is expected to receive limited “use-immunity” for the video statement so that it can’t be used against him in the future.
In Twiggs’ April 20 interview, he confirmed what he originally told law enforcement after Kirk’s September killing, that Robinson had admitted to the public shooting, said he hid the gun he used, ditched his clothes and told Twiggs not to speak with cops, prosecutors said.
Prosecutors revealed the information as they opposed Robinson’s team’s bid to drag Twiggs into court for the preliminary hearing, a measure prosecutors said wasn’t necessary given they had the recorded statements and screenshots of Twiggs’ and Robinson’s texts, the filing, first reported by Fox News said.
