UK’s youngest double killer who tortured woman with cheese grater could be freed

BRITAIN’S youngest double killer has launched a bid for freedom after she tortured a woman with a cheese grater and murdered her own dad.

Lorraine Thorpe was just 15 when she carried out the brutal double murder in Ipswich alongside her 41-year-old “role model” Paul Clarke.

The unremorseful teen bragged to police how she savagely beat and smothered her father Desmond, 43, and laughed with pals about torturing Rosalyn Hunt to death.

Thorpe became Britain’s youngest convicted female double murderer following a trial in 2010.

The twisted twin, now aged 31, was locked up for life with a minimum term of 14 years.

Thorpe will now appear before a parole hearing this month to decide whether she should be released or not.

If the Parole Board grant her freedom, the double killer could soon be back on the streets.

It is her second bid for freedom after a previous appeal was rejected in September 2023.

The sadistic murders took place amid the violence of Ipswich street drinkers which Thorpe was a part from the age of 13.

Her parents split when she was 12 and she went to live with her alcoholic father in squalid flats as she evaded social services.

Clarke – a central figure among the drinkers – had been in a relationship with Rosalyn but they split and he savagely killed her over a dog attack.

She was tortured for two days by the gruesome pair, who grated her skin with a cheese grater and then rubbed salt in the wounds to make sure she suffered as much as possible.

Thorpe also used vulnerable Rosalyn as a “punch bag” – stamping on her and snapping nine of her ribs before burning her hair and whipping her with a dog lead.

The mum-of-three died in agony days later but the horrifying killing spree was not over.

On August 10, 2009, the depraved pair visited chronic alcoholic Desmond, who was in the care of Thorpe.

When he threatened to go to the police about Rosalyn’s murder, Thorpe battered him before he was smothered with a cushion.

Even after she was arrested, Thorpe showed no remorse and told police “you’ll find my footprint on my dad” after stamping on his head so hard she left a trainer print.

She also giggled uncontrollably during her trial.

Clarke was caged for a minimum of 27 years in 2010 but he was found dead in his cell at HMP Whitemoor four years later.

A spokesperson for the Parole Board said: “An oral hearing has been listed for the parole review of Lorraine Thorpe and is scheduled to take place in February 2026.

“Parole Board decisions are solely focused on what risk a prisoner could represent to the public if released and whether that risk is manageable in the community.”
