The Halle Bailey and Regé-Jean Page romantic comedy You, Me & Tuscany debuts on streaming this week after an underwhelming run in theaters.

You, Me & Tuscany opened in theaters on April 10. Bailey (The Little Mermaid) stars in the film as Anna, an American who throws caution to the wind and jets off to Italy, where she crashes Matteo (Lorenzo de Moor)’s villa without his permission.

After Anna is mistaken for being Matteo’s fiancée, her situation becomes even more complicated when she meets Matteo’s cousin, Michael (Bridgerton star Page), and the two realize they have romantic chemistry.

Directed by Kat Coiro (Marry Me) and produced by Will Packer (Girls Trip), You, Me & Tuscany also stars Aziza Scott (One of Them Days) and Marco Calvani (The Four Seasons).

You, Me & Tuscany will debut on digital streaming via premium video on demand with bonus content on Tuesday, May 12, according to Universal Studios Home Entertainment. The film will be available to purchase on PVOD for $24.99 on such digital platforms as Apple TV, Fandango at Home, Prime Video and YouTube Movies & TV.

Since digital rentals are typically $5 less than purchase prices, You, Me & Tuscany should be available to rent on PVOD for $19.99 for a 48-hour period.

‘You, Me & Tuscany’ Has Earned $21 Million Worldwide To Date

Despite critical praise for the film, You, Me & Tuscany earned only $7.7 million from 3,151 North American theaters in its opening weekend for a fourth-place finish domestically. Through Friday, the film had earned $18.6 million in domestic ticket sales and $2.9 million internationally for a worldwide box office tally of $21.5 million.

You, Me & Tuscany entered its fifth weekend in theaters on Friday in only 87 venues domestically, down from 563 theaters the week before. The film’s streaming release date falls in line with Universal Pictures new policy of keeping its films in theaters for at least five weekends before releasing them on digital streaming.

You, Me & Tuscany had an $18 million production budget before marketing costs, according to Deadline. Since roughly 50% of any given film’s ticket sales go to theater owners, Universal Studios will have a lot of ground to make up on both its production and undisclosed marketing costs as You, Me & Tuscany enters the home entertainment marketplace.

Rated PG-13, You, Me & Tuscany arrives on PVOD on Tuesday. The film will also be released on Blu-ray and DVD with bonus content by Universal Studios Home Entertainment on Tuesday, June 16.
