Zendaya Channels Her Inner Spider in ‘Abstract’ Black Gown for ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ Premiere

Zendaya pulled out all the stops once again for her latest red carpet appearance at the Spider-Man: Brand New Day Los Angeles premiere.

The 29-year-old actress made the Monday, July 27, red carpet event her personal runway in a stunning black satin gown from Ashi Studio’s fall/winter 2026-27 collection. The outfit features a sleek corset that gives way to a voluminous train.

“It’s kind of an abstract way to present the spider. You know, in our mind, it’s like this metamorphosis of this woman into this thing,” Zendaya’s longtime stylist, Law Roach, told Variety on Monday, noting that her jewelry came courtesy of Boucheron.

The starlet’s dramatic look was accentuated by her hair being slicked back, with a few strands intricately adorning her forehead, and smoky eye makeup.

Zendaya was joined at Monday’s event by her husband, Tom Holland, who reprises his role as Spider-Man/Peter Parker in his fourth solo adventure. Zendaya plays Spidey’s love interest Michelle “MJ” Jones-Watson in the films.

Holland, 30, gushed about sharing scenes with his wife in an interview with E! News on Monday night, praising the Emmy winner’s onscreen talent.

“The truth is that she raises the game. She’s the type of actress where every scene is better when she’s in it. She raises the stakes for everyone,” he said.

Holland added, “She’s truthful in every decision she makes as an actress. And any time that I get to share the screen with her, I’m very lucky.”

As well as Spider-Man: Brand New Day, Zendaya and Holland shared the screen in Christopher Nolan’s fantasy epic The Odyssey, which was released earlier in July.

Holland confirmed his marriage to Zendaya in an interview with Esquire U.K. in June while reacting to AI-generated images depicting their nuptials. Quizzed whether the photos had fooled any of his family members, he responded, “No, because they were all there.”

“Our business can present very stressful situations and it’s really nice to have a bedrock of a relationship that will stand the test of time,” Holland added of his dynamic with the Euphoria actress. “We can support each other in ways that only we can, because only we understand really what it’s like to live this life, and I think that is such a luxury, because I just don’t understand how I would be able to have anything like that with anyone else.”

“So, for me, I found my person. She’s my best friend, and I’m the happiest I ever have been when I’m with her, but I also have never felt so supported and safe, ever. Period,” he continued. “Maybe when I was young with my parents and my dad was picking me up from school. Not to say that our relationship is like my mom and dad.”
