A beloved Los Angeles pizza joint is closing up shop at its Las Vegas Strip outpost — prompting devastated fans to beg the shop to open another in Sin City.
Mulberry Street Pizzeria is wrapping up a five-year run at Resorts World Las Vegas, serving its last slices on Sept. 14, they announced on Instagram this week.
“Resorts World was Mulberry’s first location outside of California, so it’s been an important chapter for the brand and one we’re incredibly proud of,” founder Ritchie Palmer wrote in a Wednesday social media post. “Our store was a thriving success from beginning to end…Most of all, we would like to thank the more than one million customers we’ve had the privilege of serving over the past five years.”
Palmer made sure to tease that this isn’t a permanent folding of the cards: “Las Vegas…we’re not cashing out! See you soon.”
Famous for bringing authentic Gotham-style thin crust to Beverly Hills in 1991, Mulberry Street opened on the Vegas Strip in 2021. The venue quickly turned into a late night destination for clubbers stumbling out of Zouk Nightclub or Ayu Dayclub in desperate search of carbs.
Resorts World opted not to renew Mulberry’s lease, reportedly in a move to phase out third party vendors in favor of in-house food and beverage operations, according to Vital Vegas. Tensions may have been brewing since 2023, when the resort reportedly forced the pizzeria to go dark on Tuesdays and Wednesdays to funnel foot traffic into other dining concepts.
“Trust us. It wasn’t you…it was the location,” one devastated fan commented on Instagram. “Some of the best pizza ever deserves to be in a spot where y’all don’t have to close two full days a week due to no foot traffic!!”
Loyal pizza aficionados flooded social media to mourn the loss. “Oh man!!!! literally the best pizza in Las Vegas, so underrated,” one person lamented. “People have no idea!”
“Please be fake news! This was the best pizza in Vegas,” another added.
The old-school pizza parlor is an LA institution, with locations in Beverly Hills, Sherman Oaks and Encino. It’s known for thin, foldable slices and attracting a celebrity crowd. Over the decades, the likes of Arnold Schwarzenegger, Robert De Niro, Sylvester Stallone have been known to be regulars.
