Niagara regional police in Ontario say a car driven by two murder suspects wanted on a Canada-wide warrant has been found in Quebec.
On Monday, Niagara Regional Police Service said Maaroof Bangi, 23, and Josta Grace MacNeal, 30, are wanted for second-degree murder in relation to the July 16 shooting death of 35-year-old Mitchell Snoddon in Niagara Falls, Ont.
In a Thursday news release, the police service said officers in Saint Eustache, Que., found a 2016 Toyota Camry the pair had been driving.
The suspects are still at large, police said, and detectives are asking anyone with information about their location to get in touch or anonymously contact Crime Stoppers.
“It is unknown at this time if MacNeal and Bangi are operating a new vehicle,” police said.
On Friday morning, Niagara Regional Police said in an e-mail to CBC News that “the suspects appear to be travelling east across the country” and could be somewhere in Atlantic Canada.
Police said a firearm hasn’t been recovered and the suspects are considered armed and dangerous. Anyone who sees either suspect is urged not to approach them and instead call 911.
MacNeal has a distinctive feather tattoo on the left side of her neck, police previously said. They also said both suspects have taken steps to change their appearance, including changes to their hair, clothing, facial hair and makeup.
The shooting took place at a residence on Thorold Stone Road near Dorchester Road around 8:50 p.m. ET on July 16, police said.
Investigators believe the two suspects “attended the residence and shot the victim with a handgun,” police said in a statement.
First responders took Snoddon to hospital but he did not survive.
